She currently serves as the Project Manager and Scientific Writer in Dr. Duygu Tosun-Turgut’s lab at the UCSF Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, where she coordinates large-scale, international research initiatives focused on Alzheimer’s disease and aging. Her role encompasses project coordination, manuscript development, and grant writing.
Dr. Zobel-Thropp earned her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research background includes significant contributions to the field of venom biology, particularly in the study of spider venoms. She has co-authored publications that delve into the composition and effects of spider venoms, including work on the venom of the Pholcid spider Physocyclus mexicanus.
